Rooted in Purpose, Guided by Hope
Challenges and ideas continued to emerge. We questioned ourselves and sought the counsel of experts, choosing first to clarify our goals rather than dwell on obstacles. Through sustained inquiry, the outlines of a path gradually came into view. In the semiconductor industry, it may take ten or even twenty years to refine a single breakthrough. With a clear sense of purpose and the resolve to face challenges unyieldingly, meaningful progress becomes possible. Healthcare concerns the well-being of all. It calls for even greater perseverance and dedication. It is an enduring pursuit that evolves with time and knows no end.

Advancing into the Era of Smart Healthcare
The rapid growth of the technology industry has not only elevated Taiwan’s overall economic standing, but also driven innovation across related sectors and accelerated industrial transformation. In healthcare in particular, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University stands as a model of institutional integration, bringing together the strengths of both medicine and engineering. Through the application of technology, it blazes the trail to new forms of care once beyond reach.

Exploring New Models of Healthcare
Building on this foundation, NYCU will carry forward the strengths and spirit of both universities while exploring new models of healthcare. Our approach will move beyond treating symptoms toward prevention and comprehensive health management. With the support of data science and AI, we aim to identify and manage health risks earlier and more effectively.

Redefining the Value of Healthcare
From the outset, Jumin Hospital has approached its development differently from other hospitals, beginning with architecture and extending to information systems, models of care, departmental organization, and research, all open to innovative thinking. It is not only a medical institution, but also a platform for the future development of NYCU. It will cultivate diverse talent, advance the innovation and application of medical knowledge, and strengthen interaction and collaboration with leading international institutions, in order to establish a meaningful presence on the global stage.

Great Outcomes Begin with the Right Questions
In many Jewish families, when children return from school, they are not asked, “Did you do well today?” but rather, “What interesting question did you ask today?” Jewish people make up only about 0.2% of the world’s population, a proportion similar to that of Taiwan. Yet over time, they have received nearly a quarter of all Nobel Prizes. What motivates this is not diligence alone, but a habit of questioning and a willingness to ask the right, essential questions.

Moving Beyond Conventional Boundaries Together
Alumni of National Yang Ming University possess strong experience in medical education and clinical practice. Combined with the strengths of National Chiao Tung University in information and communication technology and engineering, Jumin Hospital will serve as an a central hub for integrated practice following the merger of the two universities. Here, medical students and researchers can engage in clinical research, while interdisciplinary collaboration is further encouraged. Through the use of big data and AI technologies, the hospital seeks to enhance the precision of diagnosis and treatment, and to translate innovative research into a wide range of medical applications.
