Building on the Past to Advance the Future
Exploring New Models of Healthcare
In an era of rapid technological change, especially with the rise of AI, we are rethinking how medical education connects with clinical practice. Jumin Hospital goes beyond being a place for treatment. It will continue to advance and introduce the latest medical innovations, providing the highest standard of care.
National Yang-Ming Medical College was founded with a clear mission: to address health equity in Taiwan and to train medical professionals committed to serving underserved and resource-limited communities. National Chiao Tung University, meanwhile, has led the way in engineering, technological innovation, and information and communication technologies, shaping the development of the digital economy and related sectors. Bringing these two institutions together creates a strong foundation for a new generation of innovation in technology-driven healthcare.
Building on this foundation, NYCU will carry forward the strengths and spirit of both universities while exploring new models of healthcare. Our approach will move beyond treating symptoms toward prevention and comprehensive health management. With the support of data science and AI, we aim to identify and manage health risks earlier and more effectively.
Jumin Hospital is envisioned to play two key roles: to lead the future direction of medical education, and to serve as a driving force in Taiwan’s healthcare sector. Through close collaboration with the electronics industry, it can rapidly transform challenges into practical solutions, adopting the latest technologies into clinical practice and enhancing both the efficiency and quality of care.
The concept of “engineering medicine” brings together medicine and engineering science. Yet crossing disciplinary disciplines boundaries alone is not enough. What we seek is true integration, where these fields converge to open new pathways and point towards new directions. At Jumin Hospital, digital transformation will define how we move forward. By advancing science and technology, we aspire to revolutionize medical applications and redefine both medical education and our understanding of health.
