To strengthen the overall development of cancer treatment and precision medicine, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for industry-academic research collaboration was signed on January 7 by Chi-Hung Lin, President of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU); Chin-Yung Hsu, Chairman of Heron; and Chai-Wu Liu, CEO of the Jumin Foundation. As part of this landmark agreement, NYCU will introduce a 7T MRI system, while Heron plans to construct the “Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) and Advanced Imaging Center” at the Bo-Ai Campus. Jumin Hospital will serve as the essential platform and backbone for innovative medical R&D.

As the underground structure nears completion, the project will transition from “taking root” to “rising above.” In 2026, the building is expected to break ground-level and commence above-ground structural construction. The 15-story main building, spanning 86,503 square meters, will gradually take shape under the sun, symbolizing a new chapter in the hospital’s development.

The Jumin Medical Foundation has established its office at the Bo-Ai Campus of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Its interior design was recently recognized by the global benchmark of design excellence—the 2025 iF DESIGN AWARD in Germany.

The construction of Chu-Ming Hospital utilizes the MASAGO Method for its diaphragm walls. This technique employs a powerful hydraulic system to drive bucket closure, preventing the impact damage to the wall body common in traditional methods and allowing for deeper excavation. Although the MASAGO method entails higher costs and longer construction periods, choosing this approach reflects Chu-Ming Hospital’s profound emphasis on engineering quality and safety. We have opted to invest greater resources to ensure construction stability and precision, allowing the diaphragm walls to provide reliable structural support for the building for decades to come.

The Jumin Medical Foundation held the “Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Construction of Jumin Hospital” on February 1, 2023. The ceremony was led by Archie Hwang, Chairman of the Foundation; CC Leung, Board Member; Chi-Hung Lin, President of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU); Yueh-Ping Liu, Director-General of the Department of Medical Affairs (MOHW); alongside guests from the design and construction teams. The ritual was held at the Bo-Ai Campus of NYCU.
