To strengthen the overall development of cancer treatment and precision medicine, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for industry-academic research collaboration was signed on January 7 by Chi-Hung Lin, President of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU); Chin-Yung Hsu, Chairman of Heron; and Tsai-Wu Liu, CEO of the Jumin Foundation. As part of this landmark agreement, NYCU will introduce a 7T MRI system, while Heron plans to construct the “Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) and Advanced Imaging Center” at the Bo-Ai Campus. Jumin Hospital will serve as the essential platform and backbone for innovative medical R&D.
The three parties will integrate resources across industry, academia, research, and clinical practice. By utilizing real-time clinical feedback and data analysis, they aim to systematize the entire workflow—from pre-treatment assessment and planning to post-treatment follow-up. This collaboration ensures that innovative medical technologies are rapidly validated in clinical settings, further enhancing the safety and precision of cancer care and establishing a premier global hub for advanced diagnostic imaging and precision radiotherapy.
Tsai-Wu Liu, CEO of the Jumin Foundation, stated: “The establishment of Jumin Hospital sets a new vision to develop and implement the world’s most advanced medical technologies. The Jumin Foundation expressed its gratitude to Heron for investing in the facility and introducing world-leading BNCT cancer therapy equipment, and to NYCU for bringing in the state-of-the-art 7T MRI. This center will be built adjacent to Jumin Hospital, forming a unified campus for medical care, research, and education. The 7T MRI will allow previously undetectable lesions to be identified early, while BNCT offers hope for curing cancers once deemed untreatable. With the professional medical teams of Jumin Hospital and the dedication of researchers, this integrated campus will provide world-class medical services and attract the highest caliber of medical talent.
